How does one become a tattoo/ piercing artist?

I have no experience in any medical fields but I am a fairly artistic and open minded person. I have several tattoos and piercings myself. I have a bunch of sketch books FILLED with drawings. How would I go about becoming an Apprentice to be a piercer/ tattoo artist?

Hi i have also though about doing this too. I had a look on the net, jus type in goole. I found that its around £1500 to be a professional, you have to go to do a weeks training for hygiene and all that stuff, but i bet its worth it.
Take your sketch books into a shop you’re interested in apprenticing in. If they’re taking on apprentices and like your work, they’ll take you on.
