Can a tattoo still get infected even after the tattoo has healed?
Julio D asked:
The reason i ask is because for some odd reason my tattoo today is itchy and has raised up a little bit. I have read that apparently it is normal, but the last thing i want to do is have to deal with an infection involving my tattoo. It is fully healed, but i wonder if even after the healing process, can it still be infected? If so, what should I stay away from beside the obvious.

have you exposed it to sun with out sunblock? If so thats your issue. It will clear…. If not how old is it and what where you doing when it became ichy?
mine is a little on the bumpy side too. it got itchy a little too but not much to even take notice. although i did notice. i hope its just normal. mines a few months old.
i have plenty of tattoos and al at some stage have done the same i think it may be heast that expands the ink and makes it itchy i wouldnt worry about it just try not tyo scratch too much
It sounds mostly normal but keep an eye on it. Do you have any red pigment? If so you might be allergic to red ink, it’s rare but does happen, keep an eye on it and see if it gets worse, turning red and flaking or becoming sore. Here’s an article about all the likely culprits
